King's Carne Asada Tacos Recipe

This is our family's traditional carne asada taco recipe. It is perfect for a sunny summer day with friends and family. Just multiply this taco recipe to fit gatherings from 2 to 100.

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs. thin sliced sirloin or tri tip
  • 10 corn tortillas
  • 4 cloves peeled garlic
  • 1 tsp. black peppercorn
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp. fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 cup shredded Mexican cheese
  • 1/2 cup of cilantro
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions:

To make carne asada tacos you must first cut the sirloin steaks into small 1/8 of an inch thin pieces. Place the garlic, cumin, pepper, salt, olive oil and lime juice into a food processor, and grind the ingredients thoroughly. Mix this mixture with the sliced sirloin and marinate in the refrigerator overnight or for at least a few hours.

Cook the steak on a grill on medium until the steak is completely cooked through. Remove the carne asada from the grill and portion into warm tortillas. Top the carne asada tacos with shredded cheese and cilantro as preferred. These tacos are great for sunny day with friends and family.
